Yarra Valley Fixed Wireless launching!

Up to 100Mbps super-fast broadband coming to the Yarra Valley!

Clear Networks fixed wireless launching in the Yarra Valley

Clear Networks is well-known by our customers for providing business-grade broadband and telephony in places the big internet providers won’t go, and now we’re launching in Healesville!

With our engineers impatiently waiting to install our transmitter at Warramate Hills (behind Rochford), we’re currently looking for our first customer to help us make it all happen.

This means that people and businesses who previously couldn’t get ADSL because it’s too far from a telephone exchange, or get ADSL but it’s bad quality/slow, can now get broadband.

How fast? That’s up to you – we can go as high as 100mbps, but even at 1.5 Mbps down/256 kbps up for residential customers it’s faster than ADSL.

This first install would cover most places in the valley, although some of properties may be in shadow areas where the signal can’t reach – the shadow areas can be fixed if we find someone who can host something called a repeater on their roof. Usually we want this to be someone who owns the property and intends to stay there for a long time.

People in the following towns and their surrounding areas should be able to get it. But please give us a call so we can give you an accurate answer 🙂

  • Healesville
  • Yarra Glen
  • Yarra Junction (north side)
  • Gruyere
  • Dixons Creek (some parts)
  • Toolangi (some parts)
  • Chum Creek (most)
  • Mount Toolebewong (south side)
  • Coldstream
  • Woori Yallock
  • Launching Place (some)
  • Wandin
  • Seville
  • Don Valley (south)
  • Wesburn
  • Warburton (some coverage)

What is fixed wireless broadband?

Fixed wireless involves putting a transmitter on a high point such as a hill or a tall building and attaching small receiver radios to the side of the customer’s premises, and configuring the radio. The radio is hard wearing plastic about the size of a small box of cereal. (NBN is also using fixed wireless technology in other parts of Australia; it is the same technology but this is our own network).
